The Nest

Opening 1st July 2026

Nestled in the heart of Glenapp Castle’s historic 1830s walled garden, The Nest is a nature-immersed, one-bedroom garden cottage suite. Wake to birdsong, breathe in pristine Ayrshire air, and step from your door into a private outdoor wellness sanctuary complete with a secluded sauna and invigorating ice plunge tub, beneath some of Scotland's most remarkable dark skies.

The Suite

A Nature-Immersed Garden Cottage Suite

This luxurious retreat offers a rare sense of seclusion, under the eye of the Castle, set among the stunning flora and fauna of the sheltered Victorian landscape. Comprising a beautifully appointed bedroom suite, a separate living area for relaxation, and an array of luxurious amenities, the garden cottage suite exudes understated elegance.

The main bedroom can accommodate two adults, whilst the comfortable sofa bed in the living area is suitable for two children or young adults.

Thoughtfully designed to echo the Castle’s refined interiors, The Nest features rich fabrics and carefully selected period antiques, while embracing a softer, more tranquil character of its own. Deeply connected to its surroundings, the space feels fresh and leafy with a seamless sense of ‘bringing the outdoors in’. Despite the quieter, more secluded experience, the suite is still fully connected to the character and setting of the wider estate, just a short walk from the Castle itself.

The Wellness Sanctuary

Your Private Outdoor Wellness Sanctuary

The private outdoor terrace offers a refreshing sauna and a natural barrel cold plunge tub, offering a restorative hot-and-cold immersion experience. Both can be enjoyed year-round, whether the estate is bathed in sunshine or a glistening winter wonderland.

The great outdoors simply extends this offering, with 110 acres of private estate and local woodland to roam. The coastal surroundings truly offer a restorative calm like no other. Beyond the estate, guests can explore our selection of local walking routes.

Inside the suite, amenities such as pilates mats and walking weights promote gentle movement and wellbeing. Or why not choose a therapeutic body treatment from the comfort of your suite, with one of our in-room treatments, designed to restore equilibrium and bring deep relaxation to the body and mind.

The Location

A Setting Shaped By Nature

Take time to fully enjoy the sights, sounds, and scents of the walled gardens, strolling the carefully tended lawns and pathways, surrounded by a vast array of exotic plants that have been collected since Victorian days. Pre-dating the Castle itself, the gardens date back to 1830.

Sheltered by trees and florals, with sunlight filtering through the vibrant Magnolia Campbellii, The Nest feels both secluded and beautifully alive with nature. The soft, natural soundscape of gentle birdsong, particularly nuthatches and treecreepers, creates a calm backdrop for guests, complemented by the bubbling stream through the Walled Gardens and the subtle rustle of the trees.

The Nest also offers one of the estate’s most enchanting vantage points for stargazing across the Ayrshire coastline, due to the lack of light pollution. Enjoy the most remarkable dark skies - on clear nights, you could view the Milky Way stretching from one horizon to the other.
