Become a Glenapp Ranger

Experience the Glenapp Estate in a unique and fun filled way! You’ll be exploring the Scottish outdoors through searching, creating, sensory, building activities in a four-hour long nature exploration of Glenapp woodland and gardens.Our Rangers are passionate about play & wild about nature, they will provide a wide selection of the following activities for you & your mini adventurers such as minibeast hunt, nature’s treasure quest, pond dipping and storytelling. Each little adventurer will receive their very own personalised goodie bag which includes mirror, bug pot, compass, stickers, notebook and pencil.
2 hours – £270 for 2 children/3 hours – £330 for 2 children/4 hours – £390 for 2 children/additional £30 per child over the age of 3 years old

Croquet

Grab a mallet and make your way to the beautifully manicured croquet lawn of Glenapp Castle, unleash your competitive side with a fun game for all the family. A member of the Glenapp team will assist with the rules and set up. This activity requires at least 2 people to play and a maximum of 6 at any one time.

French Boules

French Boules is a great way to get everyone together for some friendly competition. May the best player win! The game of boules, otherwise known as pétanque, is perhaps the sport that is closest to French hearts. Traditionally played beneath plane trees this can be enjoyed at Glenapp with glorious views over the iconic Ailsa Craig and beyond.

Quoits

The traditional game of Quoits has a long and venerable history dating back to ancient Greece. This ancient game is easy to play, in basic terms rope hoops are thrown at the wooden pins to accumulate points, the player with the most points wins! This can be played by adults and children. Think tactically and try to outsmart your opponent!

Tennis

Glenapp Castle's all-year tennis court is great fun for both children and adults alike find your "inner" Andy Murray and enjoy your Game, Set and Match. The tennis court is complementary, and guests have access to all the Glenapp tennis equipment, automated ball machine or enjoy a private lesson to perfect the different strokes and skills needed to be a master of this fantastic sport. Use of the tennis court without lessons is complimentary.

Glenapp Beekeeping

Glenapp are proud to have their very own apiary nestled within the beautiful Estate that surrounds the Castle. Beekeeper John will help guests don headgear and overalls and discuss why beekeeping is a hugely important role within our immediate ecosystem. Guests will learn why production is so important, how to harvest honey and the role of each bee within the colony. Guests will also have the opportunity to taste a sample of the delicious Glenapp honey!

Horse Riding at Turnberry

Create lasting memories in the fresh Scottish air while enjoying the surrounds of wonderful scenery with horse riding at Turnberry Stables. Turnberry's very own beach with such a captivating coastline allows for invigorating rides and breath-taking views across the iconic Ailsa Craig and Isle of Arran. Guests can choose from a variety of activities including trekking, beach rides and lessons, making this a perfect day out for all the family to enjoy!

Kitchen Coos & Ewes

Kitchen Coos & Ewes offer farm tours and experiences where you can see Highland cows and Beltex sheep in their natural, farm environment in beautiful southwest Scotland. Tours are designed to help you get close to the Highland cattle from the safety and comfort of a purpose-built trailer – it’s basically a farmer-led Highland cow safari! Wind and watertight - and with padded seats – the farm tour trailer means you can experience a working Scottish farm and meet our Highlanders without even the need for wellies! Your tour will finish with a cuppa and some home baking fresh from the farmhouse kitchen.
Haute Coo Tour - 4 hours - £420. Private Cream Tea Coo Tour - 2.5 hours - £340. Private Insta Coo Tour - 1.5 hours long - £215. All tours are for up to six people.

Heads of Ayr Farm Park

Heads of Ayr Farm Park no matter what the weather always has something exciting to do. Activities include Play N' Wild adventure barn, fowl play foam cannon game, quad bikes, electric diggers, giant sand pit, trampolines, ringo sledging and jumping pillows. As well as all the fun activities there are a variety of animals for you to meet and pet as well as feed. There are eating facilities and a gift shop on site. Heads of Ayr Farm park provides a truly spectacular day for all the family to enjoy!

Blackstone Clydesdales

Get yourself an exhilarating experience with our beautiful Clydesdales. At Blackstone Clydesdales we offer you an experience unique and tailor made just for you. You will get the chance to look after and prepare some of our amazing Clydesdale Horses; Go on a Clydesdale Trek; Meet the farm animals with a unique chance to have a Highland Cow, Donkey, Alpaca or Pig, eating from your hand. This is a bespoke experience and will vary depending on your requirements and weather. Available all year on a pre book basis. The great outdoors the perfect place to refresh both the body and soul.
