In order to preserve the peace and privacy of Glenapp Castle and grounds for our guests, we are not signposted from the main A77. Please note that the hotel grounds are accessed via automatic gates so a reservation is essential for both resident and non-resident guests.

Directions to Glenapp Castle in Ayrshire, Scotland - by Road
Arriving from the North, the castle is one and a half hours south of Glasgow by car taking the A77, and two and a half hours South West of Edinburgh taking the M8 then the A726 then the A77. Once you reach Ballantrae on the A77 take the first road on the right after you cross the bridge over the river Stinchar on the way out of the village, and then follow the country road until you reach the castle gates.
From the South and East, the castle is approximately two hours West of the M6 at Gretna Green, taking the A75, then the A77. Before you reach Ballantrae, we are the first turning on the left 100 yards before the bridge over the river Stinchar and follow the road up the hill.

Glasgow International Airport is one and a half hours from the castle, and provides flights to all London Airports as well as direct flights to other destinations within the UK and Europe and cities worldwide including New York, Boston, Philadelphia, Calgary, Toronto, Vancouver, Dubai, Geneva, Munich, Paris and many more.
We are happy to arrange airport transfers by taxi, executive saloon, MPV or limousine. Helicopter transfers are also available, as is car hire.
The castle is just a one hour drive from Glasgow Prestwick Airport, with frequent daily flights to Dublin and many other European destinations such as Paris (Beauvais), Barcelona, Milan, Rome, Hamburg.

Private charter
Prestwick is also a hub for a number of private jet charter companies. Helicopter landing facilities are also available in the castle grounds. Helicopter transfers from Glasgow International Airport to Turnberry can also be arranged for groups of up to six. Please call us and we will provide details of costs and timings for you.
