The Itinerary
30th December
Arrive early, relax and enjoy the beauty of Glenapp; far more a home than a hotel. Wander through the gardens or corridors of this baronial castle and enjoy the art, ambience, and service of a bygone era.
It will soon be time for Champagne afternoon tea whilst listening to our Glenapp pianist playing the baby grand piano. With a roaring open fire in the drawing room, you will soon begin to connect with the pace of life in this baronial castle surrounded by seascapes and woodland; the old year will begin to fade as the New Year beckons.
Before a glorious three-course dinner, come and meet your fellow house party guests over pre-dinner drinks and canapes, accompanied by the Glenapp harpist. Get to know new friends and special people from all over the world over dinner before a whisky nightcap and off to bed.
New Years Eve
Enjoy a full Scottish breakfast before heading to the local curling rink for a curling bonspiel. The local Stranraer curling rink will bring out your most competitive nature as you slide along the ice, team against team.
The black-tie Hogmanay party begins with a champagne cocktail in the drawing room and accompanied by Piper Liam Rogers who will pipe all our guests into the six-course Hogmanay banquet dinner. Glenapp has an enviable reputation for its cuisine and this night will be the culinary highlight of your stay. It will soon be time for traditional Scottish dancing with a ceilidh band and from beginners to old hands New Year’s momentum builds.
A ‘dram’ at midnight and the piper will bring in the bells Glenapp style, join friends and family with Auld Lang Syne and whether reflecting on the old or the new or dancing into the night enjoy the warmth and wonder of this very special castle home.
1st January
Enjoy a traditional Scottish breakfast and then experience the thrill of handling birds of prey with the Glenapp falconry display on the south lawn in front of the castle, giant owls, baby owls, eagles and raptors from across Scotland.
Lunch will soon be served and endless Glen walks, coastal paths and journeys through the walled gardens of Glenapp await. Whether by mountain bike or on foot this is coastal Scotland at its best.
Preparations for the evening before the final six-course gourmet dinner, followed by a prize giving for the winners of the curling competition. Who will be crowned Glenapp King or Queen of curling this year?
2nd January
A well-deserved breakfast before a leisurely departure, ready and refreshed for what 2021 will bring!
Rates
Our rates vary depending on which style of room you would like to book. Each of our bedroom suites are individually and luxuriously styled with a unique combination of fabrics, furnishing, antiques and art. All our rooms are spacious, with many having fires and there are a variety of suites with magnificent views over woodland and the surrounding seas; a perfect retreat after outdoor adventures and exquisite dining experiences.
The following rates are per room, for the three-night New Year getaway detailed.

Children
Children are most welcome at Glenapp. We have a few rooms with adjoining rooms with sofa beds and most of our rooms can accommodate extra beds. Children’s menus are available.
Children up to and 5 years or age are accommodated free of charge, and children from 5 – 15 years are charged at £125 per night on a full board basis, and children 16 years + are charged at half the above room rates. All children charges are based on sharing a room with two adults.
